A rare and unusual hamster cage, hand made in Italy in the first half of the 20th century. The hamster cage is entirely realised out of softwood (probably pine) and is scratch made insofar as no component is pre-made or manufactured. The cage has access points at each level disguised as doors and windows. It is truly a charming piece of decorative furniture, still usable today and a great way to adorn any interior space.
