Anthony Redmile is a British Postwar and Contemporary sculptor who was born in 1945 and established himself on the London interior design scene in the 1960s, producing eclectic and distinctive pieces for his clients. These busts are typical of his work in the 1970’s utilising elements of natural history as well as semi-precious stones.
Two composite busts of Neptune form the skeleton of these wonderfully decorative items. They are adorned with coral, sea shells, quartz crystals, malachite and with silver coloured metal bowls set with malachite cabochons for plants and flowers. Standing an impressive 110cm in height alone they are a magnificent and impressive pair of planters. These were almost considered singature items by Anthony Redmile, they were produced in a small number and each one very individual making these one of the most collectable examples of Redmile’s work. Superb and eccentric items which are a wonderful addition to any room.
