A fantastic and very unusual pair of planters made by Anthony Redmile. The British designer Anthony Redmile was known in the 1960s and 1970s for his extravagant designs that stood out particularly through the use unusual. The planters illustrate this perfectly, with the use of upturned Victorian meat covers forming the bowls with application of metal sheets creating a petal effect along the outside. The plaster bases are made into Sphynx with an applied green malachite inset into the chest, typical trademark work by the world famous designer which in recent years has grown tremendously in appreciation amongst interior designers and grown steadily in value.
Condition: There has been some restoration to a couple of the leaves covering the outside of the planters, and the plasterwork shows a few very minor chips/damaged but otherwise in perfect condition
Size: 100cm high, 50cm wide at the widest point. Inside measurements of the planter/container itself is 45cm wide by 35 cm wide and 20cm deep
