A superb late 20th century leather chesterfield sofa. This is a fashionable item of furniture capable of uplifting the interior space of any contemporary or traditional home, the olive green colour combining refined elegance and taste.
Chesterfield sofas describe a deep buttoned sofa, usually made from leather, where the arms and back of the same height. The first Chesterfield, with its distinctive deep buttoned, quilted leather upholstery and lower seat base, was commissioned by Philip Stanhope, 4th Earl of Chesterfield (1694–1773). This historic item of furniture has adorned our homes for centuries now, yet they are still able to elevate any interior and are as popular today as they have ever been.
Condition: very good condition. Minor wear and discolouration throughout but no tears or holes to the leather, some very light staining to the seating area. Please refer to photographs.
