A huge Goyard double wardrobe trunk in fabulous condition, completely original and with great character, opening (with a flip top cover) to reveal a double hanging compartment as well as pockets for shoes. Dating to the early part of the 20th century (circa 1910/1920) this trunk was made for the American market as can be seen from the steel side latches which make a lovely contrast with the brass locks, studs and fittings. The famous chevron canvas is as vibrant as the day it left the shop, a very rare occurrence given the number made and the wear they would have to endure. Over recent years the brand has been relaunched and has taken the world of fashion by storm. The original E. Goyard firm was a trunk maker which rivalled Louis Vuitton and the trunks it made at the time ooze the same quality and finesse as its (now) more famous competitor. This is a chance to own one of the best trunks available on the market both in terms of rarity and condition.
