A rare car trunk by Louis Vuitton, France, circa 1910
A large and very rare Louis Vuitton car trunk covered in black Vuittonite canvas. Car trunks were usually bespoke made for the owner’s car and would ordinarily be positioned inside the boot of the vehicle or strapped to the back of the vehicle. As such, no two are the same, each one with slight variations. This one is a particularly good size. Complete with all its hardware and rivets stamped Louis Vuitton, it would make a great coffee table but could also be placed in a corner of a room as a bar or at the foot of the bed to store blankets. It’s a wonderful conversation piece, very elegant and understated.
Condition: minor scuffs otherwise excellent (please refer to photographs)
