A leather briefcase by Hermes, France, circa 1950

£2,195.00

A very elegant briefcase by Hermes made around the middle of the 20th century. The detail is exquisite, having cantilever brass clasps to either side, the characteristic Hermes lock to the centre with the key hole covering brass flap, and finished in a lovely tobacco colour leather. This seem rigid briefcase (soft leather to either flanks) comes with two keys and is as useful today as it was 70 years ago. A wonderful and decorative addition to any home office which is equally as attractive as a useful everyday item for the elegant gentleman or lady looking to add a touch of vintage sophistication to his or her look. The workmanship is exquisite as you would expect from Hermes, the famous French maker of luxury items.

Hermes barely needs any introduction: it is probably the most famous firm in the world known principally for its workmanship of leather goods of the highest quality. The French luxury goods manufacturer established in 1837 specializes in leather goods, lifestyle accessories, home furnishings, perfumery, jewellery, watches and ready-to-wear items. It has had a string of notable designers over the years, including household names like Jean-Paul Gaultier.

Condition: very good, some marks consistent with age and normal use, please refer to photographs.
